About the Oregon Sinfonietta Concerto Competition

Each season the Oregon Sinfonietta offers three young area musicians the opportunity to perform a full concerto.

The Concerto Competition for our 2024–2025 season has ended. Congratulations to our winners:

Cassandra Miller will perform Reinecke’s Concerto for Flute in D Major on January 19, 2025.

Jacob Park will perform Lalo’s Cello Concerto in D Minor on March 16, 2025.

Lucy Joo will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major on May 11, 2025.

Concerto Competition winner Cassandra Miller performed Carl Reinecke's Flute Concerto on January 19, 2025.

2025 – 2026 Season Audition and Concert Repertoire:

OBOE — Ponchielli: Capriccio for Oboe and Orchestra
January 18, 2026 concert

VIOLIN — Sibelius: Violin Concerto
March 15, 2026 concert

PIANO — Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat, K. 595
May 17, 2026 concert

APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 4, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

AUDITIONS: October 11, 2025 at Clark College in Vancouver, WA. (Time TBA.)

Applicants must be no more than age 22 as of December 31, 2025.

PIANISTS are expected to have the FIRST MOVEMENT of the concerto memorized for the audition. The winner will be expected to prepare the ENTIRE CONCERTO for the May concert.

OBOISTS and VIOLINISTS must prepare the ENTIRE CONCERTO for the audition. They are encouraged to have their work memorized, but it is not required.

All musicians are to audition without accompaniment.
