Originally established as the Chamber Music Society of Oregon, the Oregon Sinfonietta is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Now in its sixth decade, the organization continues to perform classical music free of charge for the local community and to support upcoming young musicians.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Donald Appert has served as the orchestra’s Music Director and Conductor. The organization is fortunate to have his musical expertise and guidance in shaping the orchestra’s performances and future.
Performing the great (and sometimes lesser-known) works of the classical music repertoire, the Oregon Sinfonietta rehearses on Thursday nights from 7:00 – 9:30, at the German American Society of Portland, 5626 NE Alameda Street, Portland, Oregon, 97213. For more information or if you are interested in joining the orchestra, please call (503) 285-7621, or e-mail Dr. Appert at cc1maestro@aol.com.
